Today, CVI manages four primary businesses around the globe: Loan Portfolios, Real Estate, Corporate Securities, and Special Opportunities. The Corporate Securities segment uses core CVI methods to identify opportunities in the value investment area covering value debt, bonds, equities, bankruptcy and trade claims.

Within Corporate Securities, we are currently seeking a Director to oversee all transaction aspects including transaction origination and qualification, fundamental analysis and valuation, transaction closure, and ongoing investment management. Our ideal candidate would likely be working as an analyst in an investment bank, hedge fund or similar organization. The Director will work individually and as part of a small team and must interact effectively with senior management, internal administration, legal and tax resources, and external parties.

Specific duties include:
    Develop and manage a network of market contacts, intermediaries and market experts;
  1. Underwrite and value target transactions by using fundamental valuation methodologies, identifying and researching risks, and modeling cash flows;
  2. Make investment recommendations to management;
  3. Monitor the ongoing performance of transactions, seek ways to maximize transaction value, and communicate investment status to management; and
  4. Source deals through an existing network and broaden the network to ensure a steady supply of investment opportunities.
  5. Position must locate in Minnesota.
  6. Skills

    Required:
  7. Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline.
  8. 5+ years of experience, with 3+ years occurring post-MBA, in an Investment/Finance environment with transaction origination, underwriting, negotiation, and structuring experience.
  9. 3+ years of analytical and financial modeling skills, Excel proficiency.
  10. Established network that can be leveraged to source transactions and industry knowledge. (Be prepared to discuss networks and outline relationships in the interview.)
  11. Strong verbal and writing skills, excellent attention to detail.
  12. Strong time management skill and ability to operate under demanding deadlines.
  13. Entrepreneurial/Opportunistic approach. (Be prepared to provide examples in the interview.).
  14. Ability to work independently and in teams.
