The Data Team is responsible for data integrity of all fixed income securities utilized by internal and external clients to both trade and manage portfolio risk.
The Pricing Team is responsible for the collection, verification, and distribution of all third-party price and economic data used by all of BlackRock’s internal and external clients.
Position Description: As an Analyst in the Investment Services Team within the Data & Pricing function, you will support a fast growing area in a dynamic and challenging environment. Day-to day responsibilities include project management & technical development to support the needs of the Data & Pricing Teams. In this role you will partner with Technology, Product Development, Product Support, and Operations to understand our Clients’ needs, right detailed business specifications, manage / execute these projects by managing development team timeliness and or completing the development and move to production environment yourself.
This function will expose the Analyst to all of BlackRock’s and BlackRock Solutions’ tools and businesses and will require the Analyst to work closely with internal clients such portfolio management, account management, administration and operations, and BlackRock Solutions as well as external users of data. The critical responsibilities of this position are at the core of the data integrity group’s objective of providing timely, accurate and complete data.
Qualifications: - Candidate must possess a strong understanding of the following technical disciplines; Relationship Database Management, Client Server Environments, and Web Technologies. - Candidate must possess a strong understanding and relevant work experience with the following tools / languages; SQL, Perl, Access, Excel (Visual Basic for Macros), Unix, HTML, XML, FTP, and PGP - Candidate must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of fixed income investments and finance with the skills and ability to work in an entrepreneurial and team oriented environment. - Candidate must have enthusiasm for, and comfort with, working at a fast and furious pace while maintaining quality and the integrity of investment data. - Candidate must have the ability to pick up complex fixed income knowledge and technical ability quickly - Excellent communication skills to enable clear articulation while working with internal and external clients - A college degree in Finance or Computer Science is required - 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience Skills See Job Description.
